Southern Special Overview

In the south of Tanzania , stretching inland from the coast, lies Africa's largest wildlife sanctuary; the Selous game reserve, crossed by the Rufiji River and is internationally famous for its animals. Here one can enjoy boat/walking safaris, wildlife observation and bird watching. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and wildlife of Ruaha National Park boarded by the Ruaha River and offers spectacular viewpoints. It also has a greater concentration of wildlife on the banks of the river and around the water holes.

Bordering to Selous game reserve on the south and Udzungwa national park in the west, Mikumi plays in important central role in the southern safari circuit. In fact Mikumi is more or less an extension to the vast Selous game reserve and offers similar wildlife, vegetation and other sightseeing opportunities. Udzungwa is an easy day trip from Mikumi. This is a unique mountain rain forest and one of Tanzania 's most recent established parks. Contains the greatest altitudinal range of forest in East Africa-enjoy this walking safari with breathtaking views over the rift valley and witness the beauty of Sanje Waterfalls.

This package of the combined southern parks offers you an opportunity to experience a truly African Safari.
