Tanzania’s second largest city, located on the rocky southwest shore of Lake Victoria. Mwanza is an important transport hub in the northwest part of the country with the most important air, rail, road and lake terminal. Mwanza is also the first access point for travelers entering Tanzania from Kenya and Uganda using the ferries that cross Lake Victoria. The city center is lined with colonial era buildings but most of the attractions are focused next to the Lake, including the best-known local land mark- the Bismarck Rock.

Mwanza being an important transport hub is very well connected not only internally but also to the neighbouring countries of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. There is a well organized air, road and water transportation system linking Mwanza to all these places.
