Kondoa town lies 160kms north of Dodoma cityon the banks of the small but perennial Kondoa river. This town would not have been worth any mention to tourists were it not have been for the most ancient Maasai Rock Art Reserve.
Kondoa is accessible by road from Dodoma and Arusha- but it is very difficult to do this during the rainy season.
Places to Visit
The only potential tourist site is the ancient Maasai Escarpment Rock Art Reserve in the Kolo village approximately 20 kms north of Kondoa.

Some interesting sites are located in the nearby town of Babati. The mountains of Hanang and Katesh of Babati. Tarangire national park is also quite close and accessible.
